How to make tofu buns

1. Cut the tofu into small pieces the size of a fingernail

2. Cut the fat with skin into small pieces the same size as the tofu pieces. Of course, if you like to eat pork skin, you can also buy some more and cut it into small pieces of the same size.

3. Put the chopped fat and skin into the pan and stir-fry to fry out the fat. Then take out the stir-fried skin and meat cubes and set aside. Note: Don’t stir-fry them too dry, the buns still taste good with a little fat in them!

4. Drain the water from the chopped tofu cubes, pour into the oil used to stir-fry the meat, stir-fry until the tofu turns slightly yellow and the water is dry, then set aside.

5. Chop the lean meat into stuffing, chop the chives, add the stir-fried tofu cubes, pork skin, fat cubes, as well as green onions, ginger, preserved vegetables and all the seasonings to make the bun stuffing.

6. Knead the dough. I used Prima self-raising flour and mixed it step by step according to the instructions.

7. The rest is making dumplings. I really have no experience in this area. I also found some tutorials on Xiangha.com, but there is still a lot of room for improvement! This is the first steamed bun I made in my life. Here is a picture as a souvenir!

8. To steam the buns, steam them for 15 minutes after the water boils. Turn off the heat and let them warm for a few minutes. That’s it!
