In the middle and late stages of pregnancy, the diet should also be determined according to the development of the body. The diet for pregnant women in the middle and late stages is also more diverse.

1. In the later stages of pregnancy, in addition to meeting the needs of fetal growth and development, the pregnant woman and fetus also need to store some nutrients in their bodies, so the demand for nutrients increases. Increase the number of meals and amount of food consumed each day so that the various nutrients and energy in the diet can meet the needs of the pregnant woman and fetus. During this period, you should supplement enough calcium. In the late pregnancy, the expectant mother's need for calcium increases significantly, because the calcification of the fetus' teeth and bones requires a large amount of calcium. The expectant mother should drink more bone soup and shrimp soup, and eat more sesame seeds, kelp, animal liver, and eggs.

2. Generally, pregnant women start to supplement calcium after five months. Due to the rapid development of fetal bones, it is easy for pregnant mothers to suffer from calcium deficiency. It is recommended that pregnant women eat more vegetables, high-protein foods and calcium-rich foods to supplement calcium. Foods that can supplement calcium for pregnant women include: sesame, hawthorn, sea fish, yogurt, dried shrimp, kelp, cabbage, cauliflower, cabbage, rapeseed, soy products, eggs, kelp, seaweed, milk, bone soup, dried dates, soybeans, chicken, black fungus, carrots, etc. Dietary supplements can be used as a preventive measure, but if symptoms of calcium deficiency occur, it is faster to take calcium supplements. For calcium supplements, you can choose calcium tablets that do not irritate the stomach and intestines and contain vitamin D. They are better in terms of absorption and safety. In addition to choosing calcium preparations reasonably, it is also very important to get more sun exposure, balanced nutrition, and scientific cooking.

3. The pregnancy reactions of pregnant women in the second trimester have gradually weakened, the appetite of pregnant women has begun to improve, and the amount of food eaten has also begun to increase to meet the fetus's needs for nutrients. At this time, pregnant women need to increase their intake of various nutrients in their diet. Among them, attention should be paid to increasing heat energy, taking in sufficient amounts of protein and fat, and increasing the intake of vitamins, trace elements and inorganic salts.
