How to make hand-painted lace cookies

How to make hand-painted lace cookies

During the holidays, I believe everyone will go back to visit their elderly parents. This is a sign of care and filial piety. There are many ways to honor your parents, the best one is to accompany them quietly and cook something delicious for them yourself. Next, let me take you to learn about hand-painted lace cookies.

1. Sift together 65g low flour, 10g cocoa powder and 1/8 teaspoon baking powder

2. 32.5g of butter softened at room temperature, add 35g of powdered sugar and beat

3. Add 15g whole egg liquid in portions

4. Stir well

5. Sift in the mixed powder from the first step. Mix by folding and cutting until there is no dry powder (I personally don’t like to over-mix the cookie dough. So I always do this)

6. Put the mixed dough into a plastic bag. Refrigerate for more than 1 hour

7. Take out the refrigerated dough and roll it into a sheet about 3mm thick (you can start preheating the oven while doing this step to save time)

8. Cut out the circle and place it on a baking tray covered with tin foil or baking paper.

9. Place in the upper middle layer of the oven preheated to 180°C. Bake for 10-15 minutes. The time needs to be adjusted according to your oven. For example, the oven in my dormitory only has a single-fire setting. It's really a rip-off. At first I tried everything but nothing was baked through. But in fact, it took a long time to adjust. Many things were successfully made. For this cookie, I baked it on the upper middle layer for 5 minutes, then moved it to the middle layer for about 5 minutes, then took it out and flipped it quickly. Then bake on the upper-middle layer for another 4 minutes. You’ll need to try a few times to gain experience with the temper of your own oven. This is a necessary process :)

10. When the cookies are baked and cooled, you can prepare the frosting:

11. Add 2 drops of lemon juice to 1 egg white and beat until coarse foam forms (C said that the egg white is best refrigerated overnight and then sieved. My egg white was left over from making egg tarts and was stored in the freezer. I took it out and used it directly)

12. Add 150g of powdered sugar in 3 times and stir

13. Stir it until it becomes smooth. I had to continue stirring (the big egg beater in the dormitory was too soft. It didn’t work well. I changed to a spoon and it worked better. By the way, it’s best not to use an electric egg beater)

14. It doesn’t take long to whip up to a soft peak state. When you lift it up like this, there will be a downward curved tip.

15. Then make it into a peak like the one on the right (a vertical point that can hold the shape)

16. I don’t have any tools for decorating. A cone-shaped paper tube was rolled out of oil paper. Then seal it with tape. If the tip is too small, trim it with scissors. Frosting that is not in use should be covered with a damp cloth or stored in a plastic bag. Otherwise it will easily dry out (if you don’t have a piping nozzle like me and want to use a paper tube, please remember to roll the cone tightly =-= otherwise the tip will be too big and the squeezed thread will be thick)

17. Practice drawing straight lines. This cookie is actually the second one I made. When I made the first piece, I had no idea at all. It's a mess no matter how you modify the design. I didn't want to show it to the public, so I referred to C's design. Found a few favorite elements. Then you can play freely on this basis. It will be much easier to do.

18. After drawing the straight line, add some dots on the edges. Then squeeze curved lines into the blank space (curves are obviously harder to get started with than straight lines. After drawing a few straight lines, you will get a better feel for it. I reworked this curve twice. There are traces of icing on the cookies)

19. I particularly like this cookie. I like it so much that I don’t want to add any extra embellishments to it. Just a row of lines like that. Elegant and simple. It has a very harp feel>>Result= =Result. I dropped it. It's broken into this state. Fortunately, a picture of the process was left to prove that it was once intact. I'll just keep it in mind.

20. The third cookie. First draw out the horizontal and vertical checkered patterns. Leave some blank space on both sides and put two rows of dots

21.Put a snowflake pattern into the middle hole.

22. The lesson here is: when folding paper tubes, make sure the tip is not too thick. I used paper tubes with thick tips for the first few cookies. It's okay if the lines are thick. When I was dotting, I couldn't even make it smooth and the paper tube couldn't fit into the small squares in the painting. So the dots seem to float on the grid. Without the grid outline, it wouldn't be square enough and there would be some blank space. Not good looking

23.4 cookies. The last half cookie in the thick paper tube. A half drawn straight line found that the oral wear was getting thicker and thicker. Decided to change it

24. I picked out a few but couldn’t bear to redo all of them. So I stayed. However, the newly folded narrow paper tube did not match the horizontal lines when pulled, so I just made some dots for decoration. I quite like the effect.

25. Random curve decorations are drawn in the blank space. This time it went much more smoothly. One-step

26. After the harp piece was smashed. This is my favorite piece.

27. Cookie number 5. After I changed to a paper tube that can pull thin strings, I wanted to practice pulling the strings. So the whole cookie is full

28. As a result, I had a hard time styling the hairstyle. I randomly clicked a few rows. When I clicked it, I felt it was over, over, ruined. After ordering, it looks OK

29. When you see this kind of thing more often, you won’t notice the ugly parts anymore.

30. The 6th cookie. I feel that if the dots and lines are about the same width each time, the pattern itself cannot be highlighted. So the thin line pulled the big grid

31. Simple lace shape with curves and small dots on the top and bottom.

32. A hollow heart-shaped pattern in the middle.

33. Actually, I originally wanted to fill a heart. I am used to filling in the outline first and then filling it in. After filling in the outline, I think it would be nice to leave some white space. It's hollowed out.

34. The last piece. This is actually a mess. It's getting late and I'm starting to feel sleepy. My eyesight isn't very good, so I didn't redo the painting from beginning to end. So many lines are crooked and there are a lot of flaws. Probably this is it first~

The hand-painted lace cookies that I introduce today are delicious and you can’t miss them. Go and try making them now to satisfy your taste buds.
