How to make Zongzi

Who doesn't want to live a healthy life? In fact, the occurrence of diseases is often avoidable. As long as we pay more attention to our diet, we can stay away from many diseases to a large extent, especially stomach problems. The method of making zongzi is quite simple. It is delicious and healthy. It is a home-cooked dish worth recommending.

1. Pick the reed leaves, which are also available in the market, blanch them in boiling water, and cut off a little bit of the head and tail.

2. Wash the glutinous rice and soak it for about half an hour, then drain the water. If you add red beans, peanuts, etc., soak them for 8 hours in advance, drain the water and mix them with the glutinous rice. (I didn’t add these to the recipe because I was in a hurry. I also like to eat pure glutinous rice dumplings, which have the fragrance of reed leaves.)

3. Take 3 to 4 reed leaves at a time, overlap them slightly and place them side by side, roll them into a cone shape, hold the reed leaves in your left hand and roll them with your right hand.

4. Pour the glutinous rice in and tap it gently with your hands to make the rice as compact as possible.

5. At this time, pay attention to the technique: hold the zong body with your right hand, and gently support the middle and lower part of the vertebral body with the fork of the middle finger and ring finger of your left hand. Cover the reed leaves outside the vertebral body with your right hand.

6. Gently fold it downward from the outside and press it tightly.

7. Take a rope about 30 cm long and tie it up tightly.

9. Put the rice in the rice cooker and add water to cover the rice dumplings by 1 cm. When it starts to boil for the first time, turn off the power and simmer for 10 minutes. Then boil it twice more and simmer for about 10 minutes each time. Finally, simmer for about an hour
