How to make homemade additive-free orange jam

1. Wash two fresh, smooth-skinned oranges, and use a grater to peel off the surface of the peel. The inner white part is not needed, as it will be bitter if added with orange jam.

2. Add a little salt to the orange peel shreds and marinate for ten minutes. Then rinse and squeeze out the water. You can wrap it with kitchen paper and squeeze it out, which is very convenient.

3. Squeeze the juice of half a lemon, just one spoonful is enough.

4. Peel the orange, remove the white tendons and inner membrane, leaving only the flesh and juice.

5. Add the pulp, juice, orange peel and rock sugar into the pot, bring to a boil over high heat and then simmer over low heat.

6. Simmer for about half an hour, stirring occasionally in the middle, and stirring more often as time goes by, until the orange jam becomes thick, then turn off the heat. It will become thicker as it cools.

7. Add a spoonful of lemon juice before turning off the heat. It is a natural preservative and can extend the shelf life of the jam.

8. Put the jam in a sealed glass container while it is still hot, turn it upside down, and store it in the refrigerator after it cools down.

9. Take it out and enjoy it when you want to eat it!
