How to make cornmeal and red date steamed cake

1. Wash the red dates, remove the core of one third of them and cut them into small cubes.

2. Put cornmeal, ordinary flour, white sugar and yeast powder into a bowl.

3. Add the diced red dates and stir evenly with chopsticks.

4. Pour warm water into the basin little by little, stir it into a thick paste with chopsticks, and shake the basin vigorously with your hands to smooth the surface of the batter.

5. Cover the pot with a plastic bag and let it ferment until it doubles in size.

6. This is fermented, and there are obvious silk holes on the surface.

7. Arrange the remaining red dates.

8. Steam it in a pot of boiling water for 30 minutes. Turn off the heat and simmer for 5 minutes before taking it out.

9. This is fresh out of the pot.
