How to make Baozi (Pumpkin, Spring Bamboo Shoots and Pork Buns)

The main advantage of eating out is that it saves trouble. The disadvantage is that you may inadvertently eat something that is not good for your health, such as too much MSG. If you want to avoid this, you should learn to cook by yourself. The method of making steamed buns (pumpkin, spring bamboo shoots and meat buns) is not difficult to learn. As long as you master the skills, you can quickly make delicious dishes.

1. Xiao first dissolved the dough in 35℃ warm water and then mixed it with flour to make a smooth dough, and then placed it in a steamer filled with warm water to slowly rise.

2. While the flour is rising, you can prepare the filling. Use a planer to shred the pumpkin, carrots and spring bamboo shoots and set aside. Marinate the minced meat with cooking wine and light soy sauce for 15 minutes. Wash and chop the green onions and set aside.

3. Heat up a pan with oil and stir-fry the minced meat until it brings out the aroma and changes color, then add appropriate amount of cooking wine and light soy sauce for seasoning. Then add the shredded bamboo shoots and stir-fry evenly, then add appropriate amount of cooking wine and sugar for seasoning. Finally, add shredded carrots and pumpkin, stir-fry evenly, add salt and boiling water and simmer for 2 minutes. Finally, add MSG for seasoning and serve. The filling is ready.

4. The flour should be proofed until it is about twice as large as the original size. It should be fine if you can make a hole in the middle with chopsticks and it will not bounce back.

5. Knead the proofed dough with your hands for about 30 minutes to break the small bubbles inside. Then divide it into small pieces of similar size, roll them into balls with your hands and flatten them with a rolling pin. Put the fried stuffing on top and wrap them into the shape of buns.

6. Place the prepared buns in a steamer filled with warm water and let them rise for 40 minutes before steaming.

7. After steaming over high heat, switch to medium heat for 15 minutes, then turn off the heat and simmer for 10 minutes.

8. Serve the buns with pumpkin, spring bamboo shoots and pork.

Remember to control the heat when making buns (pumpkin, spring bamboo shoots and meat buns), otherwise it will easily stick to the pan and affect the color of the food, thus affecting everyone's appetite. Just add some chili and sour vinegar according to your personal taste.
