What skills do you need to master in order to make a cumin shortbread that tastes good, has great color, and is made quickly? Don’t be afraid. In fact, the method of making cumin shortbread is very simple. Don’t add too many seasonings. Just keep the original flavor of the food. You can add coriander and chopped green onions at the end, and the taste will be even better.

1. Take an appropriate amount of flour, add a little salt and a little yeast, knead into dough and let it stand for one and a half hours.

2. Add a proper amount of salad oil to the pot and turn on the heat. Turn off the heat when the oil is hot and let it cool for later use. Take out another bowl and pour in an appropriate amount of flour, add a little salt, a little pepper powder, and a little cumin powder to the flour (I would like to explain here that when making this ghee cake in my hometown, they would add a lot of spice powder, but I personally don’t like the taste, so it depends on your personal taste).

3. After the oil has cooled, pour it into the flour you have just prepared and knead it repeatedly until the oil is completely absorbed by the flour. This is the most critical part of making shortcrust pastry. After the shortcrust pastry is ready, set it aside for later use.

4. At this time, knead the dough that has been proofed for about half a minute, roll it out and flatten it (try to roll it out as thin as possible so that the crust of the pastry will be very crispy), sprinkle the prepared oil pastry evenly on the surface, add cooked sesame seeds, and roll it up a little bit from one side. After rolling, cut the dough into small pieces of 5-6 cm wide (a name I am used to, which actually means cutting the rolled dough into small pieces), roll the small pieces out into a round shape. Pour a little salad oil into the frying pan, turn on the fire and wait until the pan is hot, put in the rolled cakes, fry until both sides are golden brown, and the delicious cumin butter cakes can be served. (I’m so tired. I didn’t take photos of these steps, so it’s a bit strenuous to describe them.)

People with poor stomachs must pay attention to their daily diet and avoid eating out often. Cumin shortbread is simple to make and it is convenient to make it yourself.
