How to make red date glutinous rice rolls

1. Put flour, baking powder, lard and sugar in a bowl, mix well, and knead the dough with warm water.

2. Knead the dough into a smooth dough, cover with a damp cloth and place in a warm place to rise.

3. After one or two hours, let it rise to two to three times its original size.

4. Take out the proofed dough and continue kneading it. It will shrink to the size before proofing. After kneading, cut it into two doughs.

5. While the dough is rising, you can prepare other ingredients. Wash the red dates and wolfberries, remove the pits and chop them into small pieces.

6. Steam glutinous rice (soak in advance). I steam it in the microwave, but if you use an electric rice cooker there will be rice crust at the bottom. Add some sugar to the steamed glutinous rice, then add the chopped red dates and wolfberries and mix well.

7. Roll into rectangular pancakes.

8. Spread the mixed glutinous rice on the dough. The glutinous rice should be about 3 cm high. (You can master this by yourself)

9. After rolling, cut in half. Put it into the pot after the steam comes out of the steamer.

10. Steam for 15 minutes, turn off the stove and wait for five minutes before removing the lid. Cut into pieces and serve.
