How to make chestnut snow skin mooncake

The deterioration of living environment and the increase of study and work pressure are slowly eroding our health, so health preservation actions are urgent.

1.1 Add milk little by little and mix well into a fine paste

2.2 Put glutinous rice flour, sticky rice flour, starch and powdered sugar into a bowl and mix well.

3.12 Pour in 20g vegetable oil and mix well

4.21 Put water into the steamer and bring it to a boil. Put the noodle soup bowl in. Cover with plastic wrap and steam over medium heat for about 25 minutes until cooked.

5.1 Add a small bowl of glutinous rice flour to a clean pot, stir-fry over medium-low heat for 2-3 minutes until cooked, then pour into a small bowl as hand flour

6.2 During the steaming process, roll the chestnut filling into 10 balls of about 20 grams. Use a kitchen scale for more accuracy.

7.1 Let it cool down a bit, knead it with your hands, knead the oil and dough together completely, and keep kneading until it is smooth and delicate.

8.2 After the snow skin is steamed, it solidifies into a solid, but there is still a layer of oil on the surface that has not merged with the snow skin.

9. Divide the snow skin dough into 10-11 balls of about 30 grams each and roll them into balls with your hands.

10. Flatten the snowy dough with your palms, and then shape it into a round cake with your hands. Put the chestnut filling in the middle.

11. Wrap the filling and close the opening as well as possible. This step requires some patience, and you need to close it towards the middle little by little. If it can't be closed, you can dip it in some cold water to close it.

12. Place the dish with the seam facing down on the chopping board and sprinkle some cooked glutinous rice flour on it.

13. Put some flour on the inside of the heart-shaped mooncake mold. Tap it a few times and the excess flour will fall off.

14. Place the dough with the filling facing outwards into the mooncake mould.

15. Press down twice to create the pattern. Pay attention to the force when pressing down. Press until you can no longer press.

16. Lift the mooncake mold a few centimeters away from the panel, and continue to press down, and the snowy mooncake will automatically fall onto the panel.

17. Use the same method to press out the snowy mooncakes using the Korean mooncake mold.

18. Place all the pressed snow skin mooncakes on a plate, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for a few hours before eating.

Only by eating well can we have a healthy body. For the sake of nutrition and health, we should try to eat out less often. It is more nutritious and healthier to eat at home. Let’s get started and make today’s chestnut ice skin mooncakes.
