How to make walking stick cookies

1. Use a mixer to beat the butter and powdered sugar, add eggs and essence and mix well. Add flour and baking powder and mix well, do not over mix

2.1 Divide each dough into 20 equal portions. I made half the amount, so each dough had 10 portions, each portion weighing about 12g to 13g. The dough will dry out and crack easily, so cover the unused part with plastic wrap.

3.2 Pour out the dough and divide it into 3 portions. Add red pigment to one portion and green pigment to the other portion. Wrap it with plastic wrap and refrigerate until hard (mine took about 30 minutes)

4. Take two doughs, roll them into 13cm long respectively and place them side by side. The dough is very sticky, so sprinkle dry powder on your hands and the chopping board when kneading it, and be gentle with your movements.

5. Twist the two doughs together, place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper, and bend one end.

6. Preheat the oven to 350F (175C) and bake for about 10 minutes until hard.
