4. Put the washed edamame into a mortar and pound it into three or four pieces. (If you don’t have a mortar, use a food processor to blend for about 5 seconds. Don’t blend it too finely; it will be chewy if it’s coarse.)

5. After the porridge is cooked, add the mashed edamame and cook for another five minutes.

6. Finally, add appropriate amount of salt and serve.
