How to make Cantonese style salty pork dumplings

In a busy life, it is a great happiness to be able to have a delicious meal when you return home. If you don’t have much time to prepare dinner, you can choose simple ingredients, stir-fry them briefly and they are ready to go. The method of making Cantonese-style salty pork dumplings is that simple.

1. Prepare the ingredients.

2. Soak glutinous rice for 3 hours in advance.

3. Wash the bamboo leaves and straw ropes, soak them for a while, and then boil them for ten minutes.

4. Take out and let dry.

5. Soak the peeled mung beans for 2 hours.

6. Cut the pork belly into small pieces and marinate with five-spice powder, cooking wine and soy sauce for 2 hours.

7. Soak the mushrooms until soft and cut into slices.

8. Take two bamboo leaves and cross them into a funnel shape

9. Add glutinous rice, mung beans, egg yolk, pork belly and mushrooms in turn, then take a piece of bamboo leaf and stuff it next to it as shown in the picture.

10. Stuff a piece on each side, then put a layer of mung beans on the ingredients, and finally put glutinous rice on top.

11. Take a piece of bamboo leaf and cover it.

12. Fold the left and right sides to the middle and wrap them, then wrap the top one to the middle.

13. Wrap the following in the middle in the same way.

14. Just tie it up with a rope.

15. Put cold water into the pot, make sure the water covers the dumplings. I put in a lot of water to prevent them from drying out. After boiling over high heat, cook over medium heat for one hour.

16. Open the rice dumpling after it is cooked. The aroma of the rice dumpling leaves and the spiced meat blend together to create a fragrant aroma that will make you salivate.

Although restaurants provide us with convenience, they still have many shortcomings. It is better to make it ourselves. Cantonese salty pork dumplings are easy to make, nutritious and healthy.
