Hold the lower half of the glutinous rice dumpling with the base of your left hand, and slowly gather the upper half of the glutinous rice dumpling with the base of your right hand, until it is formed into a small bundle. 4. Bring the water to a boil and gently add the glutinous rice balls. After the water boils, turn down the heat, add a little cold water, boil again and cook for 3 minutes. When the glutinous rice balls float up, turn off the heat and let the glutinous rice balls float in the hot water for another 3 minutes. 5. Season the glutinous rice ball soup with appropriate amount of lard and light soy sauce, and sprinkle with chopped green onions after serving.
