How to cook squid on skewers

1. After killing the squid, blanch it with boiling water and you can easily peel off the skin on the squid; then wash it clean. (Don’t use squid skin because it will have a fishy smell.)

2. Prepare barbecue sauce and cumin powder; blanch the bamboo skewers with boiling water in advance.

3. Cut the squid into strips horizontally, with the length being about the same as the squid tentacles. (You can also slice it as you like)

4. Add cooking wine, light soy sauce, white pepper powder and oyster sauce to the cut squid and marinate for about 10 minutes. (If the weather is hot, remember to marinate in the refrigerator)

5. Use bamboo sticks to string the marinated squid together.

6. Add 1 spoon of barbecue sauce, half spoon of steamed fish soy sauce and 1 spoon of water into a clean bowl, stir well and set aside.

7. Heat a little oil in a frying pan, then fry the squid skewers over medium-low heat.

8. Press with a spatula and fry both sides until cooked and turn yellow.

9. Pour in the previously prepared sauce, turn on high heat, and cook until the sauce covers the squid.

10.Finally, sprinkle with appropriate amount of cumin powder and serve. (If you like spicy food, you can also sprinkle some chili powder.)

11. Squid is easy to cook, so don’t fry it for too long.
