How to steam dumplings in the microwave

Microwave ovens are common household appliances and can be considered treasures for people living today. It only takes a few minutes to have breakfast, which is more nutritious than instant noodles and saves time. Microwave ovens can also cook many delicious foods and can even replace ovens. Dumplings are usually boiled, but some people also like to steam them. In fact, microwave ovens can also be used to steam dumplings and other foods. Let’s find out more about this below.

  1. Microwave Steamed Dumplings

  1. Freeze 12 dumplings and add appropriate amount of water. The more water, the longer it takes to steam the dumplings. The plastic box of the microwave oven transfers heat quickly, so the time it takes to steam dumplings will be shortened.

  2. 12 dumplings, cook over high heat for 5 minutes until the water boils. If there are more dumplings and more water, you can increase the time. Always observe and make sure the water boils.

  3. After boiling, immediately turn to medium heat to prevent the pot from overflowing. 12 dumplings are cooked in 4 minutes over medium heat. Checking at any time to see if it is not cooked can add time.

  4. Frozen dumplings are cooked in the microwave! No sticking, no mussing, no need to turn over during steaming

  1. Microwave steamed buns

  1. First rinse the steamed buns with water so that the surface of the steamed buns is fully covered with a layer of water. The same applies to steamed buns, steamed buns, and frozen steamed bread, steamed buns, and steamed buns.

  2. Filling the plate with water provides a source of water when the microwave oven is working, keeping the environment inside the microwave oven warm.

  3. Put the steamed buns with moist surface on the rack and put a plate filled with water under the rack, just like heating the steamed buns in a steamer.

  4. Set the microwave mode to "bread/steamed buns". If the microwave does not have this option, you can also set it to normal heating. Setting the heating time is the key, because it also depends on how many steamed buns are being heated. If you are not sure, set it to one minute first. If the steamed buns are not heated through, just continue heating them. Be careful not to set it for a long time at once and burn the steamed buns.

  5. Open the door to see if the steamed buns are heated through. The steamed buns that are heated through are usually steaming hot, but unfortunately I didn’t capture the steaming effect in the photo. If the steamed buns are not heated well and the surface is dry, rinse them with water to keep the surface moist and continue heating.
