How to steam shredded carrots

1. Nutritional value

 

Every 100 grams of carrots contains about 0.6 grams of protein, 0.3 grams of fat, 7.6-8.3 grams of carbohydrates, 0.6 milligrams of iron, 1.35-17.25 milligrams of provitamin A (carotene), 0.02-0.04 milligrams of vitamin B10.04-0.05 milligrams of vitamin B20.04-0.05 milligrams, 12 milligrams of vitamin C, 150.7 kilojoules of calories, and also contains pectin, starch, inorganic salts and various amino acids. Among all varieties, the dark orange-red carotene content is the highest, and the energy contained in various carrots ranges from 79.5 kilojoules to 1339.8 kilojoules.

2. Simple steamed carrot shreds method

1. Wash the carrots, scrape them into shreds, put them in a bowl, sprinkle a little salt and mix well! Leave it for ten minutes!

2. After being pickled with salt, the carrots will release a lot of water! Put on disposable gloves and squeeze the water out of the pickled carrots. Squeeze it a few times to remove as much water as possible!

3. Then spread out the shredded carrots and add a little salad oil, then mix well with your hands! Spread out the carrot shreds again, sprinkle flour evenly on them, reach out and mix with both hands, continue to add flour and mix repeatedly to ensure that every carrot shred is evenly coated with flour! Just touch it with your hand and it feels dry!

4. Add cold water to the pot, put a steaming cloth on the grate, spread the shredded carrots evenly on the grate, cover the pot, and steam over high heat for ten minutes (I used a grater so the carrots were very thin, and it only took seven or eight minutes to steam)

5. Turn off the heat and open the lid. Pour the shredded carrots into a clean plate, sprinkle with a little sesame oil, stir with chopsticks, and try to blow away the heat. It will taste better and more fluffy!

6. It will taste better if you pour garlic juice on it after it cools down!

Tips

 

It's normal that it doesn't fall apart when it's just out of the pan! After mastering the previous steps, steamed dishes generally need to be cooled down and then picked up with chopsticks, and they will naturally fall apart! Be sure to add some salad oil to prevent sticking!
