Rheumatoid disease is a chronic immune disease. Once you suffer from rheumatoid disease, it will cause great harm to the patient's health. Rheumatoid arthritis needs to be actively treated. However, while receiving timely treatment, you also need to pay attention to your diet. If the diet is improper, it will have a great impact on the recovery of the disease. There are many foods that rheumatoid patients cannot eat.

What is the Rheumatoid Diet?

1. Daylily root wine

50 grams each of daylily root and rice wine. Wash the daylily roots, put them into a pot and add appropriate amount of water. Boil them over high heat first, then simmer over low heat for about half an hour. Take out the juice, remove the residue and drink it with rice wine. Take twice a day for several days.

This prescription has the effect of clearing heat and unblocking meridians. It is suitable for people with heat arthritis and obvious redness, swelling and pain in the joints. It should not be taken if the joints are not red and hot.

2. Chili pork soup

100 grams of lean pork and 90 grams of chili roots. Wash the lean pork and cut into pieces. Wash the chili roots and wrap them in gauze and seal them. Put the pork, chili roots, scallion segments, ginger slices, and Sichuan peppercorns into a casserole and add appropriate amount of water. Boil over high heat and then simmer over low heat for half an hour until the meat is tender. Remove the roots and eat the meat and drink the soup, once a day.

This prescription has the function of warming the meridians and dispelling cold, removing dampness and relieving pain. It is suitable for those with severe joint pain, but should not be taken for those with heat arthritis.

3. Angelica sinensis wine

30 grams each of Angelica dahurica, Eucommia ulmoides, Angelica sinensis, Ligusticum chuanxiong, Rehmannia root and Salvia miltiorrhiza, and 1000 ml of white wine. First, grind the above-mentioned medicines into powder, wrap them in gauze and put them into white wine. Cover and seal it, then simmer it by the fire for 20-25 hours, then let it cool and drink it at any time.

This prescription has the effects of nourishing the liver and kidneys, strengthening the tendons and bones, and eliminating rheumatism. It is suitable for people with liver and kidney deficiency and rheumatic pain. It is not suitable for people in the early stages of arthritis and heat arthritis.

4. Cinnamon Porridge

10 grams of cinnamon, 50 grams of glutinous rice, and appropriate amount of brown sugar. Grind cinnamon into fine powder, wash the glutinous rice and cook it in the usual way. When the porridge is almost cooked, add the cinnamon powder and brown sugar, and boil it. Take it on an empty stomach while it is still hot, once a day. Five to seven days is a course of treatment. If it feels effective, you can continue taking it.

This prescription has the effects of warming the meridians and dispelling cold, warming the stomach and relieving pain. It is suitable for patients with cold arthritis, heat syndrome and yin deficiency and hyperactivity of fire.

5. Eggplant wine

90 grams of eggplant root (or white eggplant root) and 500 ml of white wine. Wash and chop the eggplant roots, wrap them with white gauze and seal them. Then soak the eggplant roots in the white wine for two to three days. Unseal and you can drink it. Drink 15 ml each time, twice a day for one week.

This prescription has the effects of clearing away heat and wind, removing dampness and unblocking meridians. It is suitable for symptoms such as heat arthritis, red, swollen, hot and painful joints, thirst, dry stool, fever, etc. It is not suitable for those without redness and heat in the joints.

Rheumatoid arthritis diet tips:

1. Correct food selection for rheumatoid arthritis: Generally, choose delicious and appetite-enhancing meals, mainly vegetarian, and eat fruits (apples, grapes, etc.) after meals;

2. For rheumatoid arthritis, natural drinks such as fruit juice without any additives are recommended, and soft drinks such as soda that can easily cause stomach acid should be used less;

3. Patients with rheumatoid arthritis can eat vegetables and fruits rich in vitamins E, C, A, B, such as carrots, bean sprouts, seaweed, onions, kelp, strawberries, black plums, bananas, and tomatoes, oranges, cucumbers, etc. containing salicylic acid;

4. Choose foods that are easy to digest and should be cooked in a light and refreshing way. Eat less spicy, greasy and cold foods, and eat more appetizing foods such as jujube and coix seed. Coix seed has the effect of removing dampness and expelling wind. It is a good choice to cook it into coix seed porridge or cook it with mung beans.

5. Appropriately supplement vitamins A, C, D, E or foods containing minerals such as calcium, iron, copper, zinc, and selenium to enhance tissue immunity and prevent tissue oxidation or anemia. Reduce fat absorption as much as possible, and the main sources of calories should be carbohydrates and proteins. If your weight exceeds the standard, you need to lose weight gradually;

6. Patients should not eat too much seafood, such as kelp, sea cucumber, marine fish, shrimp, etc., because they contain uric acid, which, after being absorbed by the human body, can form urate crystals in the joints, aggravating joint symptoms;
