How to make two-color chess-shaped cream cake

Place both cakes in the freezer for about 10 minutes until the buttercream hardens.

16. Take out the frozen cake. Cut each strip into three pieces as shown in the picture.

17. After cutting, you can get three pieces of cake with the colors of "black-yellow-black" and three pieces of cake with the colors of "yellow-black-yellow"

18. Take a piece of cake, brush it with rum syrup and apply buttercream frosting.

19. Cover with another cake slice of opposite color

20. Continue to brush with rum syrup, apply buttercream frosting, and cover with the third cake slice. By following the same steps, you can get two cake strips with opposite square distributions. Place the cake strips back into the freezer for 10 minutes until the buttercream hardens.

21. Put the remaining cake scraps into the oven and bake at 170 degrees for about 10 minutes until dry. After cooling, rub it into crumbs with your hands

22. Take out the frozen cake strips and apply a layer of buttercream on all sides

23. Place the cake strips coated with buttercream into the cake crumbs so that all four sides are covered with cake crumbs.

24. After cutting the cake, you can see neat chessboard on the cross section.
