How to make old dough steamed buns

Old-style steamed buns are a very common home-cooked dish. After a busy work day, you can go home and have a dish like this to relax yourself. This dish has high nutritional value, is healthy and nutritious, and is suitable for people of different ages. Moreover, the color of this dish makes it look very appetizing.

1. Fermented old yeast

2. Cover with a fresh-keeping bag and ferment until it doubles in size, then dissolve the edible alkaline flour in warm water.

3. Dissolve the old yeast in warm water and knead into dough.

4. Add appropriate amount of alkaline water and knead evenly. Do not pour all the alkaline water at once to prevent the steaming from being too white and yellow, and the taste will be compromised. When adding alkaline water, knead evenly and smell it until there is no sour smell.

5. Add the remaining flour and knead into a smooth dough.

6. Use a cutter to cut out equal amounts of the same surface.

7. Then knead it into round buns, like this round

8. Put it on the panel. If there is red food, use chopsticks to decorate a few red dots to make it more beautiful (if there is no red food, you can omit it)

9. Then put the buns into the steamer, cover it, turn on low heat to let the sugar rise inside, and steam them on high heat for 15 minutes when the steam starts to rise (you can also steam them directly at room temperature after the sugar has risen).
