How to eat Qiugui

Okra has become a health vegetable in many countries, which also indirectly reflects the nutritional value and medicinal value of okra itself. At the same time, okra contains a lot of oil, so okra can also be made into okra oil, which has a richer aroma than peanut oil and sesame oil. For people who like to eat okra, many different ways of eating okra have been developed accordingly. Here are some delicious and simple ways to eat okra recommended for you.

How to Eat Okra

Okra can be eaten cold, stir-fried, fried, stewed, and made into salads, soups, etc. Before eating it cold or stir-fried, it must be blanched in boiling water for three to five minutes to remove the astringency. It is cold in nature, and eating it after being blanched in soy sauce mixed with minced garlic and chili can slightly balance its coldness. However, people with weak spleen and stomach, prone to diarrhea or loose stools should not eat too much. When okra is cooked with curry and other seasonings, the taste is completely different. If you are not used to okra, you might want to give it a try.

Okra can also be eaten raw. After washing and refrigerating, it can be kept for several days without losing its delicious flavor. However, like vegetables, okra contains a lot of potassium, so dialysis patients need to blanch it before eating. When cooking, you can blanch the okra, wrap it with bacon, sprinkle some cheese powder, wrap it with tin foil and bake it in the oven. Since okra and cheese are rich in calcium, they can increase calcium intake.

Notice:

Step 1: Blanch the okra in boiling water to remove the astringency.

Step 2: Do not use an iron pan to cook okra, as it will change color.

Step 3: In order to maintain the nutritional content and taste of okra, if blanching it, the blanching time should not exceed three minutes. If you stir-fry, don't stir-fry for more than five minutes.

Step 4: When frying the okra cut into sections, there will be mucus. Some people will wash off the mucus before frying in order to make the dish look better. In fact, this is absolutely not recommended. The mucus of okra is its nutritional essence, so don’t be afraid of stickiness, because sticky things are nutritious.

Step 5: Do not add water when frying okra. Just stir-fry over high heat until it changes color. It’s better to keep it raw than to fry it until it’s soft. It can be eaten raw so no need to worry. If you fry it for too long, the nutrients will be lost.
