How to make honey braised pork

Honey is nectar collected by bees from flowering plants. Honey has many benefits, especially it has a strong effect on regulating the spleen and stomach. Honey can also remove eye bags and wrinkles. Honey can also be paired with braised pork to create a fragrant and sweet honey braised pork. Friends who like this dish can choose the one you like from the following two methods and follow each step to make it yourself.

  Ingredients: 1 pound of pork belly with skin, 1 star anise, cooking oil, onion, ginger, cinnamon, bay leaves, light soy sauce, honey, and salt in appropriate amounts.

Method: First wash the pork belly, cut into 2 cm cubes, and then soak it in cold water for two hours. (This is similar to the method of pickling pork in my hometown, I will share it with you later.) Put the meat in a pot of cold water and blanch it for 2 minutes when the water boils, then remove it and drain it.

Put the wok on the fire, add cold oil after it is hot, add a piece of star anise, stir-fry until fragrant, stir-fry the meat, and bring out the fat in the pork, making the meat golden yellow, add cinnamon and bay leaves, stir-fry for a while, and then transfer to the casserole.

The meat stewed in a casserole tastes better. If you don’t have it at home, you can directly add water to the wok. The amount of water should just cover the meat. Then bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to low heat and simmer.

After stewing for about an hour, add salt and honey, then stew for another 10 minutes before serving. At this point, the braised pork is ready.

     Steps / Methods

1Cut the pork belly into pieces and mix well with two teaspoons of honey;

2 Heat oil in a pan over low heat, fry the pork belly on both sides until it turns slightly yellow, then pour in about two teaspoons of white wine;

3 Pour in soy sauce, stir fry quickly for a few times, then add boiling water to cover the pork belly

4Cover the pot, turn down the heat, simmer for about an hour and a half, add the sweet noodle sauce, stir-fry until it is colored;
