What to do if you have a bad heart? Eat more of these foods

The heart is a symbol of vitality and is closely related to human health. A bad heart can easily lead to problems in life, so in this case you should pay attention to dietary adjustments. Heart problems are multifaceted, and conditioning and treatment require symptomatic treatment to solve the problem.

1. You should add some potassium to your daily diet to help excrete sodium. Supplementing high-potassium foods is beneficial to sodium excretion and can reduce the pressor response of the sympathetic nerves. Bananas, kelp, spinach, amaranth, etc. are high in potassium, so you can eat more of them. For patients with hypertension, they must follow the doctor's advice and use potassium salt instead of sodium salt reasonably.

2. Eat some high-calcium foods in your daily diet to protect your blood vessels! Calcium in the diet has a protective effect on blood vessels, so you should supplement enough calcium in your daily diet. Animal foods, especially milk, cheese, seaweed, dried shrimps, etc. are rich in calcium. It is recommended to drink 250~300 ml of milk every day, preferably low-fat or skimmed milk.

3. Reduce fat intake in your daily diet and eat less fried foods! Patients with cardiovascular diseases must limit the intake of animal fats, such as fatty meat, cream, etc., and appropriately increase the proportion of vegetable oils (olive oil, rapeseed oil, corn oil, etc.). The total amount of cooking oil per day should not exceed 25 grams, and try to avoid unhealthy cooking methods such as frying with large amounts of oil.

4. Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables and less sweets! It is recommended that patients with cardiovascular diseases eat no less than 500 grams of vegetables and 200 grams of fruits every day to supplement various vitamins and dietary fiber. Eat less sweets, cakes and sugary drinks, and eat more complex sugars that are rich in plant fiber such as corn, wheat and oats. However, the intake of staple food must be guaranteed.

5. To protect your heart, you must quit smoking and control your cholesterol! Smoking damages arterial endothelial cells, causes vascular spasms, aggravates cardiovascular disease, and reduces the efficacy of drugs. It is recommended that patients with cardiovascular disease quit smoking. Cholesterol intake should be less than 300 mg/day, and less than 200 mg/day for those with hypercholesterolemia. Eat less animal offal and shellfish.
