How to cook kumquats with red wine

1.1 Prepare a bottle of red wine, preferably of good quality.

2.2 Soak the kumquats in warm salt water for 10 minutes, then wash them thoroughly with warm water and dry them.

3.1 Flatten the kumquat with your thumb.

4.2 Make six cuts around the kumquat, but don’t make them too deep.

5. Use a toothpick to carefully pick out the seeds (this step can also be omitted).

6. Pour the red wine into a small water- and oil-free milk pan and bring it to a boil. Pour in the kumquats. It is best if the red wine can cover the kumquats.

7. Cook on low heat for 20-30 minutes.

8. After the kumquats cooked in red wine are done, let them cool down a little and store them in a sealed bottle (I store them in a Lock & Lock sealed box). Drink half a glass of red wine and eat two or three kumquats half an hour after dinner every day.
