How to cook Northeastern chicken stewed with mushrooms

Many new wives are very troubled by cooking skills. Northeastern chicken stewed with mushrooms is a dish suitable for novices to learn. It doesn’t require a very complicated method, just a simple stir-fry will do. This dish tastes good whether you eat it with dry rice or porridge. A bowl of soup after the meal will make it taste even better.

1. Prepare the ingredients, wash and chop the chicken, peel and cut the potatoes, and soak the dried hazel mushrooms in advance.

2. Cut the onion into sections and slice the ginger and garlic.

3. Put a proper amount of oil in the pot and heat it to 50% hot, then add onion, ginger and garlic slices to bring out the aroma.

4. Add the chicken and stir-fry evenly.

5. Pour in appropriate amount of light soy sauce, cooking wine and dark soy sauce, and stir-fry until the chicken is colored.

6. Add the soaked mushrooms and stir-fry evenly.

7. Add water to cover the ingredients, put in star anise, bring to a boil over high heat then simmer over medium-low heat.

8. After stewing for about 40 minutes, add potato cubes and continue stewing. (Potatoes are easier to cook, so add them later.)

9. Continue to simmer for about 20 minutes. When the soup in the pot becomes thick, add appropriate amount of salt and chicken essence and turn to high heat to thicken the soup.

10. The finished product can be decorated with chopped coriander.
