Half a carrot, 150 grams of yam, 300 grams of minced pork, and 25 grams of egg white.

10 grams of minced ginger, 1 spoon of cooking wine, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 tablespoon of soy sauce.

1. Peel the yam and cut it into small pieces;

2. Steam until cooked, mash into paste and set aside;

3. Put the minced pork and yam paste into the container;

4. Add egg white, minced ginger, cooking wine and salt and mix;

5. Pour the soy sauce in one direction and stir as much as possible to make the meat filling firm;

6. Wash and peel the carrots and cut them into thin slices. Roll the meat filling into meatballs the size of ping-pong balls.

7. Place the prepared meatballs on the carrot slices and place on a plate. Add appropriate amount of water into the steamer and bring to a boil. Put in the meatballs and steam over high heat for about 8 minutes until cooked through.

Tips

1. When choosing minced meat, make sure it has both fat and lean meat. Meat that is purely lean does not taste good.

2. The yam can be cut into very fine cubes and mixed with minced meat instead of being steamed and mashed. However, an appropriate amount of starch needs to be added, otherwise it will be difficult to make it into firm meatballs.
