How to make mooncakes with whole grains

7. Peel the pumpkin, steam it, and mash it into a paste. Mix flour, cornmeal, 75g salad oil, 20g white sugar, yeast, baking soda and pumpkin puree.

8. Knead the dough until it is smooth and becomes mooncake crust.

9. Divide the dough into 30g small pieces and the filling into 25g small balls

10. Take a portion of the dough, knead it into a round shape and flatten it into a bowl shape

11. Wrap a filling in it and slowly close the mouth of the mooncake with your hands like wrapping glutinous rice balls.

12. Press it flat slightly, use a small bottle cap to dip in red food coloring to make a round mark on the mooncake embryo, put it into the preheated oven, and bake on the middle layer at 180 degrees for 10 minutes. (Of course, you can also use mooncake molds to make multi-grain mooncakes of various shapes)

Multi-grain mooncakes may seem complicated, but if you actually try to make them, you’ll find that they’re not difficult at all. The key is that you must master the specific steps and methods before you do it.
