How to make sweet-scented glutinous rice lotus root

Now that people’s lives are better, they have become more careful about what they eat. In the past, people ate to fill their stomachs. Nowadays people eat it to prolong their life. So, how can we use "eating" to prolong our life? You still have to achieve it by yourself. Now, I will introduce the method of making lotus root with osmanthus and glutinous rice.

1. Wash the glutinous rice first.

2. Soak in water for 2 hours.

3. Wash the lotus root.

4. Remove the skin.

5. Cut the lotus root from one end.

6. Stuff the soaked glutinous rice into the holes of the lotus root and plug the ends tightly with bamboo chopsticks.

7. Then close the cut lotus root nodes at the cut.

8. Tie it tightly with a small bamboo stick to prevent the rice from leaking.

9. First put the lotus root stuffed with rice into the pot.

10. Add clean water until the water covers the lotus root.

11. Add brown sugar and bring to a boil over high heat, then simmer over low heat for 1 hour.

12. Add red dates, lotus seeds, and the remaining glutinous rice and continue cooking for 40 minutes.

13. Take out the cooked lotus root, let it cool down and then slice or cut it into pieces. When eating, pour the brown sugar water or candied osmanthus used to cook the lotus root on it. The red beans and glutinous rice cooked at the same time become brown sugar glutinous rice and red bean porridge.
