Pork Tongue and Prunella Vulgaris

Effect: Clears away heat and dampness, removes liver heat

Ingredients: 500 grams of pork liver, 20 grams each of selfheal and artemisia capillaris, and 4 slices of ginger.

Method: 1. Boil the pork tongue to remove the fishy smell and set aside. 2. Put selfheal, cotton wormwood, ginger and pig tongue into a clay pot and add 2500ml of water. Bring to a boil over high heat, then simmer over low heat for about 2 hours and season.

Indications: Herba Artemisiae Scopariae is mild in nature and astringent in taste. It nourishes the spleen and stomach and aids digestion. Herba Prunellae has the effects of clearing the liver and improving eyesight, dispersing nodules and reducing swelling. Herba Artemisiae Scopariae has the effects of clearing dampness and heat and relieving jaundice. Therefore, this soup can clear away heat and dampness, and remove liver heat, and is especially suitable for diabetic patients.

★ Chicken feet stewed with Chinese yam and lentils

Effect: Strengthen the spleen and remove dampness, relax muscles and activate blood circulation

Ingredients: 15 grams of yam, 15 grams of lentils, 15 grams of Euryale ferox, 15 grams of coix seed, 200 grams of fresh chicken feet (about 10 pieces), and a little shredded ginger.

Method: First, peel and wash the chicken feet and cut off the toenails. Put yam, lentils, Euryale ferox, coix seeds, chicken feet and ginger slices into a clay pot, add 2500ml of water (about 10 bowls of water), bring to a boil over high heat and then simmer for 2 hours over low heat. After cooking, add salt to taste.

Note: It is recommended not to use frozen chicken feet, otherwise it will affect the flavor of the soup.

★ Atractylodes macrocephala, tangerine peel and pork tripe soup

Effect: Strengthen the spleen, dry dampness and stimulate appetite

Ingredients: 10 grams of dried tangerine peel, 30 grams of Atractylodes macrocephala, half to one fresh pork stomach, 6 grams of Amomum villosum, and 5 slices of ginger.

Preparation method: 1. Wash the pig's stomach and blanch it.

2. Put all the ingredients into a soup pot, add about 2500ml of water, bring to a boil and then simmer for about 1 and a half hours. 3. Take out the pork belly, cut it into pieces, put it back into the pot, cook for another 30 minutes, and season.

Indications: Atractylodes macrocephala has the effects of replenishing qi and strengthening the spleen, drying dampness and promoting diuresis; tangerine peel has the effects of regulating qi and regulating the middle, drying dampness and resolving phlegm; pig tripe is sweet and warm, and has the effects of replenishing deficiency and strengthening the spleen and stomach. Therefore, this soup can strengthen the spleen and appetite, and promote appetite. It is especially suitable for people with abdominal bloating, poor appetite, and indigestion.

Note: This soup is warm in nature and is not suitable for people with yin deficiency and internal heat.
