How to make sorghum (sticky sorghum) and bean dumplings

Are you bored at home on weekends and want to study delicious food but don’t know where to start? Are you busy with work every day and your cooking skills are not as good as before? The recipe for Sorghum (Glutinous Sorghum) and Bean Zongzi is extremely easy and takes very little time. For beginners, it is a simple and easy-to-learn home-cooked dish, allowing you to enjoy the delicious taste even if you are not a good cook.

1. Wash the beans and sorghum, and soak them in clean water for more than 12 hours.

2. Wash the rice dumplings leaves, boil them in boiling water for 5 minutes, and rinse them clean. Boil the horsetail grass in boiling water, turn off the heat and soak it directly in the boiling water for later use.

3. Remove the roots from the rice dumplings leaves.

4. Drain the pinto beans and sorghum rice and mix them together.

5. Take two pieces of rice leaves and overlap them. (If the zongzi leaf is large, one piece will suffice)

6. Fold the zongzi leaves into a funnel shape at 1/4 of the root of the leaves.

7. Add appropriate amount of rice and compact it. (Beginners must not put too much rice)

8. Use your left thumb to press the left side of the funnel shape inward.

9. Press the right side of the funnel shape inward as well.

10. Make sure to press your left thumb tightly.

11. Move the upper leaves downwards to cover the surface.

12. When the leaf is pressed to the position of your left thumb, release your left thumb. Use the palm of your left hand to press down on the left side of the leaf.

13. Use your right hand to press down the right side of the covering leaf.

14. Flatten the leaves and wrap them around the rice dumpling counterclockwise.

15. Tie the wrapped rice dumplings with horseweed. Be sure to tie it up early.

16. Wrap all the dumplings one by one. Put the rice dumplings directly into the cooking pot.

17. Put water in the pot, put a plate on top of the dumplings and cover it with a lid. Bring to a boil over high heat then simmer for 2 hours. Simmer overnight.

18. Cook it for 20 minutes in the morning and you can eat it. Fragrant and sticky!
