How to drink Tianjin Pitang

I believe that many friends who have traveled to Tianjin have heard of Tianjin Pitang. Pitang has a long history, unique ingredients and is handmade. Among them, Zhang Pitang is the most famous. It has a comfortable taste, sweet and smooth. It is one of the most famous folk snacks in Tianjin and is even well-known throughout the country. Many friends go there for the Tianjin Pitang, which can be eaten directly or soaked in warm water. Next, I will introduce Tianjin Pitang to you in detail.

This candy was originally a long thin slice called "big skin candy". Later it was rolled into a round roll, and then patted into a square roll for easy packaging. The Pitang Zhang's Pitang is soft when you put it in your mouth and can be stretched without breaking. The traditional Pitang is golden and transparent, soft and chewy when you chew it, which is very unique. Now there is a Pitang Zhang Pitang specialty store near the Drum Tower, one of the "three treasures" of Tianjin.

Product features: The Pitang produced by Pitang Zhang is different from the hard candies or soft candies on the market. It does not use colloids and additives and is a folk candy made from pure natural ingredients. It tastes sweet and soft, chewy and tough, low in sugar and sweetness, will not irritate the throat or stick to the teeth, and has the characteristics of soft, hard, tough and crisp. The selection of materials and craftsmanship pursue simplicity. The main raw materials are sucrose, starch, sugar, sesame and assorted ingredients. The sugar is boiled over an open fire and is mainly processed by hand.

Introduction: During the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, the ancestors of the Zhang family produced leather candy in the Liangjiazui area (now the Hongqiao District). It was not until the beginning of the 20th century that the second-generation successor of the Zhang family, Mr. Zhang Jun, took over. He combined the characteristics of Tianjin Liuji and Yeji Pitang and advanced the Pitang technology by a big step. People commonly call this Pitang "Pitang Zhang" Pitang.

Tianjin Pitang Zhangpitang is a high-end and famous folk leisure candy with a long history and long-standing reputation.

During the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, the ancestors of the Zhang family produced leather candy in the Liangjiazui area (now Hongqiao District).

When Tianjin fell during the Japanese invasion of China, the development of "Pitang Zhang" was traumatized. In the midst of war, Mr. Zhang worked in fear every day to make a living, but he was still found by the Japanese. They found that this was a candy with special technology, sweet taste and traditional characteristics. Therefore, they used various soft and hard tactics to force Mr. Zhang to "cooperate" with them. The old man was so strong-willed that he would rather close the sugar factory and the shop than succumb to their tyranny. From then on, the name "Pitang Zhang" disappeared from public view.

It was not until the 1980s that reform and opening up brought prosperity to Zhang Tangfang. Under the meticulous management of the third-generation successor, Mr. Zhang Xueli, the sign of Zhang Tang Fang was put up again and registered as the "Laoshao Le" trademark. As the name suggests, it is a casual candy that is loved by both the elderly and children.

The candy we produce is different from the hard candy or soft candy on the market. It is made from selected sesame seeds, white sugar and refined starch. It is low in sugar and sweetness, does not irritate the throat, is chewy and does not stick to teeth. It has the characteristics of being soft, hard, tough and brittle. It is made with simple craftsmanship, boiled over open fire, and made purely by hand.

By the 21st century, in addition to Pitang, the sugar factory has launched a series of products such as crispy candy, chocolate, and fried dough twist. There are as many as eighteen flavors of Pitang alone. It is not only sold in major markets across the country, but also exported to Japan, Germany, Russia and other countries.
