Complementary foods with high calcium content can timely supplement the various elements that babies lack. So what are the complementary foods with high calcium content for babies?

The diet of babies aged 4-6 months is still mainly breast milk (or formula milk), and the main purpose of adding complementary foods is to try eating. Start with a small amount, 1-2 spoons, and then gradually increase it. Mainly provide liquid and paste food. Iron-fortified rice cereal (can be prepared with breast milk, formula milk or apple juice), vegetable puree (3-4 kinds), fruit juice or puree (juice should be diluted with water at a ratio of 2:1 or 1:1, then drink the original juice, followed by puree), egg yolk (5 months old), fish puree, chicken, duck, pork

Foods that are highly calcium-rich and well absorbed are mainly milk and dairy products, followed by beans, nuts, green vegetables, etc., and a few foods such as dried shrimps, kelp, hair algae, and sesame paste also have particularly high calcium content.

According to the age of the baby, if the baby is breastfed, the mother should first eat more foods high in calcium, which is the basis for the child. If the baby is fed with formula milk, the milk powder contains calcium, which is the staple food for the child. The complementary foods that children can add at this stage, such as soy products (tofu or tofu pudding), vegetable and fruit puree, shrimp and vegetable soup, etc., are all good calcium supplements.

But one thing should be noted. Calcium is actually easy to take in, but it is hard to say whether it can be absorbed, because vitamin D is also needed when supplementing calcium. Without the help of Vd, no matter how much calcium is taken, it will be useless. Moreover, there is basically no Vd in breast milk or food. It is only found in formula milk and cod liver oil. The main source of Vd is outdoor activities and sunbathing. Therefore, in the medical and nutritional fields, Vd is the cheapest vitamin. And it is also necessary to cooperate with sufficient activities to make calcium easier to enter the bones.
