Lentils are also a common ingredient for making soups in Guangdong in summer. They have the effect of clearing away summer heat and dampness. Fried lentils are often used because they can strengthen the spleen and eliminate dampness, and are effective for weak spleen and stomach, indigestion, and long-term diarrhea and loose stools. Frogs are flat in nature, sweet in taste,

Salty can replenish qi and spleen, benefit the middle and stomach. Modern nutrition science believes that it is rich in protein, lipase, etc.

Ingredients: 500 grams of wax gourd, 100 grams of fried lentils, 2 frogs, 1/4 tangerine peel, 3 slices of ginger.

Preparation: scrape, wash and slice the wax gourd; soak and wash the fried lentils and tangerine peel, and remove the pulp of the tangerine peel; kill and peel the frog. First put the wax gourd, fried lentils, tangerine peel and ginger into a clay pot, add 2000 ml (about 8 bowls of water), boil over high heat, then simmer over low heat for about 1 hour, add the frogs, boil over high heat, then simmer over low heat for about 20 minutes, and add appropriate amount of salt and cooking oil. Chicken Feet with Lentil and Barley

Ingredients: 40 grams of chicken feet, 10 grams of lentils, 7 grams of coix seeds, and appropriate amount of ginger slices.

Preparation: First, peel the chicken feet, wash them, and cut off the toenails. Then, wash the lentils and coix seeds, and put them into the stewing pot together with the chicken feet and ginger slices.

Chef’s comment: The ingredients for this soup must be fresh. For example, you cannot use frozen chicken feet because it will affect the taste of the soup. The soup tastes sweet overall.

Ingredients for lentil and pork bone soup:

400 grams of spare ribs (chopped into pieces), two pieces of pig tongue, 50 grams of lentils, 25 grams of water chestnuts, and a small piece of fruit peel.
