1. Jingzhou Fish Cake

Jingzhou fish cake is a specialty of Jingzhou City, Hubei Province, and a Chinese national geographical indication product.

Jingzhou has been rich in fish since ancient times. Fish cake, one of the eight famous dishes of Jingzhou, has a long history. It is said to have been created by Empress Nv Ying, the concubine of Emperor Shun. It was widely circulated in Jingchu area. It became the first dish of the Chu court during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. It was still a court dish until the Qing Dynasty. It is said that after Emperor Qianlong tasted Jingzhou flower cake, he blurted out: "You can eat fish without seeing the fish, just like the lily cake."

2. Gong'an Beef

Gong'an beef is a specialty of Gong'an County, Jingzhou City, Hubei Province, and a Chinese national geographical indication product.

Gong'an beef, also known as "beef stove", is a delicacy in Jingzhou, Hubei. Gong'an beef is actually the local people's general term for "beef hotpot". There are five kinds of hotpot: beef three fresh, beef offal, pure beef, beef tendon, and golden tube. It is a typical local specialty dish with firm meat, not fishy or dry, unique flavor and delicious taste.

3. Fried lotus root balls

Fried lotus root balls are a traditional snack from Honghu, Jingzhou City, Hubei Province. The main ingredients are lotus root, minced meat and eggs. It is fresh and tender without being greasy, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, refreshing and slightly sweet. It is a staple dish for Honghu people to entertain guests.

4. Jingzhou big white tiao

Jingzhou Dabai Diao is a specialty aquatic product of Jingzhou City, Hubei Province. It is mainly distributed in freshwater lakes such as Miaohu Lake and tastes delicious. In 2013, "Jingzhou Dabaidiao" was awarded the national geographical indication product.

5. Fish cake dumplings

Fish cake dumplings are a traditional local delicacy in Jingzhou, Hubei. They are praised for their meaty taste, fresh fragrance, tenderness, and the fact that they melt in the mouth without appearing to be fish. The legend originated in the State of Chu.
