How to make kaikou siu mai with mushroom, carrot and fresh meat filling

Going out early and returning late every day has become the daily pattern of many office workers. They are overworked and have no time to take care of other things. They want to fall asleep as soon as they get home after washing up. However, eating out in restaurants every day makes them miss the delicious home-cooked meals. In fact, making this open-mouthed steamed bun with mushroom, carrot and fresh meat filling does not take a lot of time and energy.

1. Chop the pork into minced meat, and chop carrots and mushrooms.

2. Chop the onion and ginger into fine pieces.

3. Add ginger and green onion to the pork.

4. Add cooking oil, light soy sauce, cooking wine, salt, chicken essence, oyster sauce and sesame oil.

5. Use chopsticks to stir in one direction.

6. Add carrots and mushrooms and mix well for later use.

7. Put the flour into a bowl.

8. Pour the hot water in a circle, stirring with chopsticks until it becomes cotton-like.

9. Knead the dough into a smooth dough and let it rise for about 20 minutes.

11. Roll out the dumpling wrappers and make them thinner so that the steamed buns will taste better.

12. Use one end of a rolling pin to roll along the edge of the dumpling skin.

13. Roll out the siu mai skin into lotus leaf shape little by little and it is ready.

14. Put appropriate amount of fillings in the siu mai skin.

15. Hold the siomai gently with your thumb and index finger.

16. Pinch out a circle of folds in the middle like making a dumpling, leaving the mouth open.

17. Wrap the siomai one by one.

18. Boil water in a pot, put in the steamed dumplings and steam them over high heat for about eight minutes, then turn off the heat and steam them for three minutes.

19. The fragrant siu mai is ready, add the sauce and enjoy!
