Microwave Peanuts

I believe many people have never tried roasting peanuts in a microwave. This is made using the principle of thermal expansion and contraction. Peanuts can fully absorb heat when placed in a microwave, which allows the moisture in the peanuts to completely flow out, making the peanuts crisper. If we want the peanuts to taste a certain way, we need to add seasonings when roasting them, and then turn the peanuts over every few minutes until they are cooked.

Microwave peanuts for a few minutes

It depends on the portion size.

Put half a bowl of peanuts (do not use a plate, an ordinary bowl is best), wash them with water, add some oil and salt, then put them in the microwave on high heat for two minutes. Take out and shake the bowl, try to turn the peanuts upside down (friendly reminder: be sure to use a cloth or special gloves when taking out, otherwise it is easy to burn your hands). The ones at the bottom will be cooked faster, so turn them over, otherwise the ones at the bottom will be mushy and the ones at the top will not be cooked yet. Cook on high for another minute or minute and a half. Then take it out and wait until the temperature drops before eating it so that it will be crispy. (Friendly reminder: Don’t eat before the temperature drops, otherwise you may burn your mouth).

How to Cook Peanuts in the Microwave

Original Peanuts

Put the prepared raw peanuts into a microwaveable glass tray, not too much, just one layer will be enough. After baking over medium heat for 4 minutes, take out the tray, stir the peanuts on it, and move the peanuts in the middle of the tray outwards to prevent the peanuts in the middle of the tray from burning due to the heat. Then put the peanuts in the tray into the microwave, bake on medium heat for 3 minutes, let them cool and then you can eat them. To judge whether the peanuts are cooked, you can pinch the hot peanuts with your hands. If the peanut skin can be separated from the peanut pulp, it means the peanuts are cooked. If you feel that the peanut skins have not been removed, continue heating for another half a minute.

Spiced Peanuts

First soak the shelled peanuts in salt water for one or two hours, then take them out, mix with five-spice powder and let them air-dry for half an hour to an hour. Just make sure the surface of the peanuts is dry. Find a flat-bottomed container, spread the peanuts evenly on the bottom of the container, put it in the microwave, and cook on high heat for 8 minutes. Remember to turn it over every 3 minutes. When baking, be careful not to burn it. After baking for 8 minutes, if it is not done yet, it is best to bake it minute by minute. When the peanuts are just done, they taste a little soft, but they will become crispy after a while.

Fried peanuts

Add a small amount of cooking oil to the peanuts, mix well, and put them in the microwave; bake on high heat for 3 minutes, take out the peanuts, stir evenly, and put them in the microwave again. Bake on high heat for another 1 and a half minutes, and a plate of fried peanuts is ready. The biggest advantage of frying peanuts in a microwave oven is that it uses less oil.
