So how should confinement meals be prepared? Below we take barley rice, fried pork liver with sesame oil, angelica fish soup, and braised pork trotters with peanuts as examples to talk about how to prepare various confinement meal dishes.

1. Barley Rice

Ingredients: Job's tears, rice, water

Method: 1. Wash the coix seeds and rice separately and soak them in water for 3-4 hours.

2. Put the soaked coix seeds and rice into the rice cooker, add appropriate amount of water and cook.

Efficacy: It can promote diuresis and reduce swelling, and can help postpartum mothers relieve the problem of urinary incontinence; it can also strengthen gastrointestinal function and enhance the gastrointestinal digestion and absorption capacity.

2. Stir-fried pork liver with sesame oil

Ingredients: Pork liver, old ginger, sesame oil, water

Method: 1. Wash the pork liver and cut it into 0.5 cm thick slices; scrub the old ginger clean and cut it into thin slices with the skin.

2. Pour sesame oil into a pan and heat it over high heat. Add the ginger slices and then turn to low heat and fry until both sides of the ginger slices are wrinkled. Be careful not to fry until they are burnt.

3. Turn to high heat, add pork liver and stir-fry until it changes color, add water, turn off the heat immediately after boiling, and enjoy while hot.

Efficacy: It helps mothers to expel dirty blood from their bodies. It is recommended to eat it in the first week after delivery.

3. Angelica fish soup

Ingredients: fish, old ginger, black sesame oil, angelica, water.

Method: 1. Prepare all the ingredients and wash the cakes.

2. Heat oil in a pan over high heat then turn to low heat, add ginger and fry until brown.

3. Add fish, water and angelica, bring to a boil over high heat, cover and simmer over low heat for 5 minutes before turning off the heat.

Efficacy: Promote blood circulation, replenish blood, and supplement nutrition.
