What to eat to make the placenta mature faster

The placenta is an important organ that provides nutrients to the fetus while it is in the mother's womb, so the placenta is also an organ on which the fetus depends for survival. The maturity of the placenta is different for pregnant women at every stage of pregnancy. More importantly, the maturity of the placenta directly determines the healthy development of the baby's body. Therefore, many pregnant women hope that the placenta can mature quickly. So what can help promote the maturity of the placenta?

What to eat to make the placenta mature faster

Pay more attention to nutritional balance. If there is no third-level aging, there is no need to worry. In addition, have regular prenatal checkups once a week in the last month to observe more changes in the baby. If the placenta matures prematurely and is accompanied by fetal developmental abnormalities, symptomatic treatment is required under the guidance of a doctor. If there are pregnancy complications, they should be treated actively. It is recommended to go to the hospital regularly for prenatal check-ups and dynamic observation and monitoring.

The placenta cannot be seen or felt during prenatal examinations, and its location, size, and maturity are mainly determined by B-ultrasound. Under B-ultrasound, the placenta is divided into 4 grades according to the floor plate, chorionic plate and degree of separation. Under normal circumstances, it is consistent with the gestational age of the fetus, namely: the placenta in mid-pregnancy (12-28 weeks of pregnancy) is grade 0; the placenta in late pregnancy (30-32 weeks of pregnancy) is grade I; after 36 weeks of pregnancy, it is grade II; after 38 weeks of pregnancy, it is grade III.

Placenta grading indirectly reflects the maturity of the fetus. Fetuses with grade III placentas are basically mature; fetuses with grade II placentas are more than 80% mature; fetuses with grade I placentas are 50% mature; and the maturity rate of fetuses with grade 0 placentas is less than 20%.

If the placenta is grade III before 37 weeks of gestation and the biparietal diameter and fetal weight are estimated to be above 2500 grams, precocious placenta is considered. Precocious placenta should alert you to the possibility of intrauterine growth retardation of the fetus, and the patient needs close monitoring and termination of pregnancy if necessary.

What to do if the placenta is low

The diet for women with low placenta should be nutritious and comprehensive, and should include more foods high in iron, such as dates, lean meat, and animal liver, to prevent anemia. To avoid constipation when bedridden for a long time, you should increase your intake of vegetables and fruits and develop a habit of regular bowel movements.

1. Avoid sexual intercourse during pregnancy

Pregnant women with low placenta must be careful to avoid sexual intercourse as much as possible during pregnancy, as this may induce bleeding.

2. Avoid squatting

It is already inconvenient for pregnant mothers to squat because of their big belly, and pregnant mothers with low placenta should be careful to avoid this action as much as possible. Because if you squat, the cervix will expand, and the placenta located lower will be stretched, causing detachment and bleeding. Therefore, pregnant mothers with low-lying placenta should never squat.

3. Avoid strenuous exercise

Many pregnant mothers worry that their low-lying placenta will affect the safety of their baby, and want to find a faster way to adjust it, so they do a lot of health exercises. Experts suggest that pregnant mothers should choose gentle and comfortable exercise methods, and should avoid exercising for a long time or a large amount of time, otherwise it may cause miscarriage.

4. Reduce travel activities

As He Jie mentioned in her blog post, pregnant women with low-lying placenta should not travel. Therefore, pregnant mothers should reduce travel, walk less, and rest in bed in the left side position. If you experience any discomfort such as abdominal pain, bleeding, etc., seek medical attention immediately.

5. Avoid fatigue

Pregnant mothers should get more rest, recuperate, and avoid doing housework or lifting heavy objects.
