How to make pumpkin flower steamed buns

Pumpkin flower steamed buns is a dish that many people like. You don’t need to prepare too many ingredients when making this dish. Simple ingredients can create an extraordinary delicacy. The family sits together and eats this delicious dish. Happiness is as simple as this dish, full of the taste of home and very memorable.

1. Prepare a small pumpkin.

2. Cut 400 grams of raw pumpkin into thin slices, cover with plastic wrap, and cook in the microwave on high heat for 8 minutes.

3. Use the back of a small spoon to mash it into pumpkin puree, let it cool and set aside.

4. Add 200 grams of flour, (400 grams of raw pumpkin slices weigh 290 grams when cooked into pumpkin puree, for your reference), 30 grams of granulated sugar, and 2 grams of yeast, mix well and knead the dough until it is smooth. (It is best to dissolve the yeast in warm water, like I did)

5. What the pumpkin dough looks like after kneading.

6. Bring water to a boil in a pot, then turn off the heat immediately after the water boils. Put the kneaded pumpkin dough on the grate in the pot, cover the pot with a lid, and use the steam from the boiling water to ferment the dough. This is the steam fermentation method. Just 20 minutes.

7. After 10 minutes, check the pumpkin dough and poke a hole with your finger dipped in dry flour. If the hole does not collapse or shrink, it means it is well risen. See, fermentation is that fast.

8. Prepare 120 grams of pure milk and heat it in the microwave for 30 seconds to make the milk slightly hot.

9. Now let’s make the white dough. Mix 200 grams of flour, 30 grams of granulated sugar and 2 grams of yeast evenly.

10. Add slightly hot milk and knead into a smooth dough.

11. Use the same steam fermentation method to ferment the white dough. I didn’t take a picture here, so I used pumpkin dough instead.

12. Degas the fermented dough, cover it and let it rest for 20 minutes with sugar, which is considered the second fermentation.

13. Start dividing the dough into small pieces of appropriate sizes and making various shapes. It all depends on your preference. You can make any shape you like.

17. After making various shapes, put them in the steamer with cold water. Unplug the power supply 20 minutes after the water boils. Do not open the lid immediately. Let it stand for 5 minutes with the lid covered before removing from the pot. In this way, the steamed buns will not collapse due to sudden cold exposure, but will remain plump, soft and delicious.
