1. Shepherd's purse, Imperata root and spine soup

Ingredients: 60g shepherd's purse (fresh), 30g Imperata root (fresh), 400g pork spine, 3 slices of ginger.

Preparation method: Wash shepherd's purse and Imperata root and cut into sections. Wash the pork spine, put it into a casserole together with shepherd's purse, white grass root and ginger, add appropriate amount of water, boil it over high heat, simmer it over low heat for 1.5 hours, and add fine salt.

Efficacy: Clears away heat and dampness, strengthens the spleen and relieves heat, suitable for health care in summer.

2. Hawthorn, lentil, gizzard soup

Ingredients: 40 grams of hawthorn, 50 grams of fried lentils, 2 fresh duck gizzards, 2 cured duck gizzards, 200 grams of pork, 14 tangerine peels, and 3 slices of ginger.

Preparation method: Wash and soak all medicinal materials, remove the tangerine peel and pulp; wash and split the fresh duck gizzards, remove the impurities (optional), and wash; soak the cured duck gizzards in warm water and wash; wash the pork loin. Put them all into a clay pot, add 2500 ml of water, boil over high heat, then simmer over low heat for 2 hours, then add salt.

Efficacy: Strengthens the spleen and removes dampness, stimulates appetite and relieves stagnation. Lentils are sweet and mild in nature, and warm in nature. They are a good medicine for strengthening the spleen and eliminating dampness, which can nourish the spleen without being greasy and remove dampness without being too dry. It can be used for fatigue, loss of appetite, loose stools and diarrhea caused by spleen deficiency and dampness. Used together with hawthorn, it has the effects of strengthening the spleen and removing dampness, digesting food and stimulating appetite.

3. Raw and cooked barley, ginkgo and pork tripe soup

Ingredients: 15 grams each of raw and cooked (i.e. fried) coix seeds, 8 ginkgo nuts, 1 piece of bean curd skin, 500 grams of pork tripe, and 3 slices of ginger.

Preparation method: Wash raw and cooked coix seeds and ginkgo nuts; soak bean curd skin; wash and turn the pig's stomach over, rub it several times with salt or cornstarch, and then rinse it; pour appropriate amount of water into a clay pot and bring to a boil, add all the ingredients, boil over high heat, then simmer for two hours on low heat, add salt to taste and serve.

Efficacy: Strengthens the spleen and stops diarrhea, clears away heat and dampness, and wakes up the stomach.

4. Astragalus Decoction for Replenishing Qi and Strengthening the Spleen

Ingredients: 25 grams of Astragalus, 20 grams of Codonopsis pilosula, 20 grams of Coix seeds, 500 grams of black chicken, 50 grams of lean pork, and 3 slices of ginger.

Preparation: Blanch the black chicken and lean pork and set aside. Wash the other ingredients separately; put all the ingredients into a pot, add appropriate amount of water, boil over high heat, then simmer over low heat for about one and a half hours, then add salt.

Efficacy: Astragalus is warm in nature and sweet in taste, and can replenish qi and strengthen the exterior; Codonopsis can nourish blood and produce body fluid, and is mainly used to treat spleen and lung weakness; while Coix seed is cool in nature and sweet in taste, and can strengthen the spleen, clear away heat and dampness. This soup can replenish the vital energy and regulate the spleen and stomach. It is suitable for people with weak spleen and stomach and poor appetite in spring and summer.
