How to make mooncakes

Every festive season makes people miss their families more. If you are working in a foreign country, you must miss your home and your family. In a few days, you will be able to get rid of the pain of missing someone. When you meet your loved ones, if you can cook a delicious meal for them yourself, they will definitely be very pleased. So, let me teach you how to make mooncakes.

1. Soak the osmanthus flowers with honey one day in advance.

2.1 Peel the purple sweet potato, yam and taro, put them into three containers respectively, and press them into a paste with the head of a rolling pin. You can let them cool down before doing this step.

3.2 Steam the purple sweet potato, yam and taro together until cooked. It doesn’t take too long (see Note 1 for the reason).

4.1 Peel the salted egg yolks (I don’t have time to go to the supermarket outside, and I can only buy whole salted duck eggs on campus, and there is no egg yolk sold separately)

5.2 Steamed purple sweet potatoes will be drier, add candied osmanthus to make them soft and hard enough

6. Take a piece of purple sweet potato puree that is the same size as the egg yolk, roll it into a ball, and flatten it. Carefully wrap the egg yolk to form a large purple potato ball

7. Take another piece of yam puree that is the same size as the large purple potato ball, roll it into a ball, flatten it, and carefully wrap it around the outer layer of the purple potato ball. Put it into the mooncake mold and press it down. But the appearance is almost indistinguishable from the real snow skin mooncake

8. You can also change the materials and order, such as wrapping egg yolk with taro paste, wrapping purple sweet potato with taro paste, and so on. Make any combination you like :)
