2. Put the fish in a bowl and sprinkle shredded ginger on top. After the water in the steamer boils, put the fish into the pot and cover it over high heat for about 5 minutes. Make sure the water boils before putting the fish into the pot. Some things do need to be put into the pot with cold water, but most steamed dishes need to be steamed after the water is boiled.

3. After taking it out of the pot , pour in 1 tablespoon of light soy sauce (or steamed fish soy sauce) and sprinkle with chopped green onions. Some people think that the soup of steamed fish is too fishy, ​​so they will pour it out after steaming. Basa fish itself does not have a particularly strong fishy smell, and even if it is a common sea bass, as long as the fish meat is well processed and there is enough ginger, the fish soup itself will not have a fishy smell. So I never pour out the fish soup. The fish soup with fish flavor goes perfectly with light soy sauce. No oil was added throughout the process, it is a very light dish. If you don't care too much about calorie intake, you can add about 1.5 tablespoons of smoking oil after pouring in the light soy sauce. The finished product will taste very similar to the steamed fish sold in restaurants.
