3. Take out the blanched mutton, rinse it with running water and drain it.

5. Add enough cold water into the pot, bring to a boil, skim off the foam, put in the pepper bag and American ginseng, cover with a lid, bring to a boil, then simmer on low heat for one hour.

6. Peel the yam and cut it into dice. Put it into the soup and simmer on low heat for 15 minutes. Open the lid, add salt and a small amount of chicken essence, and simmer for another 10 minutes.
