How to make seafood steamer

Use a steamer to steam seafood. You need to use a flat-bottomed pot to steam it. Wash all the ingredients, slice the ginger, chop the garlic, put water in the pot, put the porcelain plate or steamer on it, and start steaming according to the real time. Place whole garlic on the bottom and steam the seafood until cooked. (Seafood is usually steamed in boiling water for about 5-7 minutes, depending on the actual situation.)

Who is not suitable to eat seafood?

People with high blood lipids: Snails, shellfish and crabs, especially crab roe, contain very high cholesterol content. People with high cholesterol and blood lipids should pay attention to eating less or no such seafood.

Patients with arthritis and gout: Sea cucumbers, marine fish, kelp, seaweed and other seafood contain more purine, and regular consumption of them will aggravate the condition of patients.

Patients with bleeding diseases: Patients with bleeding diseases such as thrombocytopenia, hemophilia, and vitamin K deficiency should eat less or no marine fish, because the 20-carbon 5-enoic acid contained in fish can inhibit platelet aggregation, thereby aggravating the bleeding symptoms of patients with hemorrhagic diseases.

Patients with liver cirrhosis: When the liver is cirrhotic, it is difficult for the body to produce coagulation factors. In addition, the platelet count is low, which can easily cause bleeding. If you eat sardines, herring, tuna, etc. that are rich in 20-carbon 5-enoic acid, the condition will deteriorate sharply, just like adding insult to injury.

Patients with skin diseases: The reason why patients with skin diseases cannot eat seafood is that the protein contained in seafood can act as an allergen after entering the human body, causing allergic reactions in the body, such as itching and lumps, or causing the original skin disease to recur or worsen. Therefore, dermatologists consider seafood as one of the causes of the disease and ask certain patients to abstain from it.

Allergic skin diseases caused by eating seafood are mostly type I allergic reactions, which can cause smooth muscle spasms, vasodilation, increased permeability, plasma extravasation, edema, and eosinophilia. The clinical manifestations include systemic symptoms such as skin itching, urticaria, angioedema, etc.; or recurrence or aggravation of infantile eczema, chronic eczema, etc.

Seafood helps lower blood lipids, but eating too much may increase the body's cholesterol. Scientists have found that Eskimos are less likely to suffer from cardiovascular disease, which is related to the fact that their main food comes from deep-sea fish. These fish are rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids, which can lower triglycerides and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and reduce cardiovascular disease.

Although shrimp, crab, sardines and clams contain more cholesterol, they are lower in saturated fatty acid content and the cholesterol in shrimp and crab seafood is mostly concentrated in the head and yolk. As long as these two parts are removed when eating, you will not consume too much cholesterol.

The pros and cons of eating seafood

Benefits: Seafood is beneficial for lowering blood lipids. It is rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids, which can lower triglycerides and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and reduce cardiovascular diseases.

Disadvantages: Fresh seafood contains more unsaturated fatty acids and less connective tissue. It is not only easy to digest and absorb after consumption, but also can effectively prevent atherosclerosis. Therefore, hepatitis B patients can eat some seafood appropriately.
