How to make Taiwanese braised beef noodles

1. You can choose other parts of beef. The ribs are chosen because they are easier to shape after being cooked. If you can’t buy baby carrots, just put one carrot.

2. Cut the beef into slightly larger rectangular cubes and cut the other ingredients appropriately.

3. Melt the butter over low heat.

4. Add onion, ginger, garlic and scallion and stir-fry until fragrant.

5. Add Pixian bean paste and stir-fry until red oil comes out.

6. Add light soy sauce and stir well.

7. Add beef cubes and stir-fry over low heat for 10 minutes.

8. Put peppercorns and star anise into the material bag.

9. Add enough water, seasoning bag and dried red pepper.

10. Bring to a boil over high heat, cook for 20 minutes and remove the seasoning packet.

11. Add carrots.

12. Cover and simmer on low heat for 1 hour until the beef is tender. Then add salt to adjust the taste.

13. Boil a large pot of water and add some salt.

14. Add the white flour and cook until done, then scoop into a noodle bowl.

15. Place beef and carrots on the noodles. Pour in beef broth and sprinkle with cilantro. Try it and see if it tastes the same as the Taiwanese beef noodles that cost twenty or thirty dollars a bowl outside? !
