The correct way to eat pumpkin seed oil

Everyone must have eaten pumpkin. It has a pumpkin sac, which contains pumpkin seeds. These seeds can be made into oil, commonly known as pumpkin seed oil. There are many ways to eat this oil, including pumpkin, such as making soup or braising it. It has many benefits and functions, but the correct way to eat it is more particular. So what is the correct way to eat pumpkin seed oil?

Pumpkin seed oil is also called white melon seed oil and pumpkin seed oil. The extraction methods of pumpkin seed oil include solvent extraction, hot pressing, supercritical fluid extraction and cold pressing. Pumpkin seed oil extracted by solvent extraction must be refined (6-degradation process) before it can be eaten. The refining process will inevitably destroy the natural ingredients in the pumpkin seed oil and reduce the nutritional value of the pumpkin seed oil.

The cold pressing method is to press the oil at a temperature not exceeding 60°C, and the cold pressed oil is golden yellow. Pumpkin seed oil processed in this way can retain its natural ingredients very well and is currently a widely recommended processing method, which retains more of the original flavor and nutritional value of the plant itself. At the same time, 6 dewaxing processes are adopted, including degreasing, degumming, deacidification, deodorization, decolorization, and filtering harmful substances in the oil.

The hot pressing method is to shell the pumpkin seeds, heat and stir-fry them, and then mechanically press them. Compared with cold pressing, in order to increase the oil yield and reduce costs, high-temperature oil pressing destroys a large number of active substances in the plant itself, and most of the hot-pressed oil is rose red; supercritical fluid extraction or subcritical low-temperature extraction, although it can well retain the natural ingredients in the oil, the processing cost is relatively high, which is not economical for non-high-priced products such as pumpkin seed oil.

Pumpkin seed oil is rich in unsaturated fatty acids, such as linolenic acid and linoleic acid. In addition, pumpkin seed oil also contains a variety of biologically active substances such as plant sterols, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, especially extremely high levels of zinc, magnesium, calcium, and phosphorus. Pumpkin seed oil also contains an active biocatalyst ingredient called male hormone, which can eliminate the initial swelling of the prostate and has a good therapeutic and preventive effect on the urinary system and prostate hyperplasia.
