Potatoes are a common vegetable, and their nutritional value is unmatched by many foods. There are so many ways to eat potatoes in life, such as mashed potatoes, stir-fried potato shreds, braised beef potatoes, etc., all of which taste very tempting. Steaming potatoes in the microwave is also a common way of eating them. The operation is not complicated. After preparing the potatoes, you can do it at home. It usually takes 10 minutes to eat. The taste is very authentic. Friends who want to eat it might as well try it yourself. 1. Choose the right potatoes. Russet potatoes, also called Idaho potatoes or baking potatoes, are perfect for cooking in the microwave. Because brown potatoes have a high starch content, they are particularly soft after baking. If you don't have brown potatoes, you can also use yellow potatoes, such as Canadian Gold potatoes, which have a moderate starch content and bake thick, smooth and firm. 2. Wash the potatoes. It's important to wash the potatoes before baking, especially if you plan to eat them with the skin on. Make sure to remove any stubborn dirt. A stiff-bristled scrubber is a good way to scrub potatoes. After washing, dry the potatoes with a clean paper towel. 3. Seasoning. Brush the potatoes in their skins with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. This will add flavor to the potatoes and crisp up the skin. 4. Poke a few holes with a fork. This allows the steam to escape while baking, so the potatoes won't burst in the microwave. Poke three rows of holes on the top, bottom, left and right sides of the potato. Alternatively, use a knife to cut an X shape into the potato. 5. Place the potatoes in a microwave-safe dish. You can wrap the potatoes in a damp paper towel first. This will keep the potatoes moist and prevent them from shrinking, but the skins will be soft after baking. 6. Put the plate into the microwave and select the baking time. Choose a baking time based on the size of your potatoes and the power of your microwave. Medium to large potatoes should be baked over high heat for 8 to 12 minutes. Bake for the first 5 minutes, then turn over so the potatoes cook evenly. Return to the microwave for 3 to 5 minutes, depending on how soft it is. If it is not cooked through, grill it over high heat for another minute, checking it every minute to see if it is cooked through. If you are baking several potatoes at a time, you will need to extend the baking time by half. For example, if one large potato takes 10 minutes to bake, two large potatoes will take 16 to 17 minutes. If you like crispy potatoes, you can microwave them for 5 to 6 minutes and then bake them in the oven at 200 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes. If you like crispy potatoes and want to save time, this is a great way to do it. |
