How to make sunflower colored steamed buns

1. The green dough is spinach. Chop the spinach and mix it with dry flour. Dissolve the yeast in warm water and knead the dough.

2. The purple dough is made of purple sweet potato. Peel the skin, steam it in a pot, add sugar while hot, and use a spoon to mash it into purple potato puree. Use the remaining yeast water to knead the dough into purple dough.

4. Cover the kneaded spinach dough with plastic wrap, or put a wet cloth in a basin and let it ferment in a warm place. If the temperature at home is not high enough, you can put it in a pot. When it has fermented to 1.5 times its size, sprinkle in dry flour and knead it more to remove the air in the dough. Knead it until it is smooth and set aside.

5. Cover the purple sweet potato dough with a wet cloth and place it in a warm place to wait for fermentation. The air at home is cold in autumn, and the fermentation time is generally about 4 hours. After the dough has risen, sprinkle in dry flour and knead it until smooth, removing excess air from the dough.

6. Ferment the white dough in the same way. See steps 2 and 3.

7. You can freely match the colors and cut them into small pieces. Use the skin of one color to wrap the other dough. Wrap them up like dumplings, pinch the opening tightly, with the closed edge facing down and the smooth side facing up, and flatten them.

8. After flattening, cut into 8 equal parts. Remember not to cut it all at once.

9. Turn the color inside a petal from the side to the top, and the white surface on the top will be twisted to the right and flattened.

10. Decorate the edges freely and wait for the dish to be put into the pot.

11. Put the pot on the stove with cold water and steam over high heat until steam comes out of the edge of the pot. Check the time. Steam for 15 minutes, turn off the heat and simmer for 3 minutes before serving.

12. The colorful sunflower buns are finally ready.
