However, many students like to cook or don’t want to go to the cafeteria, so they secretly buy pots and ingredients to cook their own meals in the dormitory. So how can they cook delicious and nutritious meals in the dormitory? Here are some dormitory cooking recipes for you.

1. Dormitory cooking recipes

1) Brown sugar braised pork

Ingredients: 250g pork belly with skin, 2 star anise, 1 piece of cinnamon, 4 bay leaves, 10 peppercorns, 1 finger-long scallion, 5 slices of ginger, some water, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, 5 tablespoons of cooking wine, a pinch of salt, a few drops of dark soy sauce

1. Soak the meat in clean water for about 1 hour until the blood color becomes lighter.

2. Cut the meat into pieces, place them evenly in the rice cooker, cover and heat.

3. Open the rice cooker after about 3 minutes. When you hear a sizzling sound, turn the meat over, cover and continue heating.

4. Prepare scallion segments, ginger slices, cinnamon, star anise, peppercorns, and bay leaves and wrap them together.

5. After about 3 minutes, switch the rice cooker to keep warm mode, take out the meat, and spread the onion and ginger slices in the pot.

6. Place the meat evenly on the scallion and ginger and switch to heating mode.

7. When the scallion and ginger aroma comes out, add brown sugar, cooking wine, and dark soy sauce (dark soy sauce can be omitted).

8. Add water to cover the meat by 1 finger, then put in the packaged seasoning.

9. Cover the rice cooker with a lid, but don't close it tightly, leave a little gap and continue heating.

10. After about 1.5 hours, when the soup is level with the meat, add salt, stir gently a few times, and continue to cover the lid to collect the soup.

2) Curry Beef Brisket

Materials

Main ingredients: 500 grams of beef brisket; 1 carrot; 1 potato.

Auxiliary ingredients: 3 slices of ginger; 1 piece of green onion; 12 grams of curry powder; 3 spoons of coconut milk; 1 tablespoon of cooking wine; 1 tablespoon of soy sauce; 1 teaspoon of sugar.

1. Prepare the ingredients and cut the beef into pieces.

2.Cut the carrots and potatoes into dice and set aside.

3.Blanche the beef brisket for a while, rinse off the blood foam, rinse with cold water and set aside.

4. Heat oil in a pan, add onion and ginger and stir-fry for a while, then pour in beef brisket and stir-fry for about 3 minutes.

5. Transfer the fried beef brisket into another pot. I use an electric rice cooker.

6. Add water to cover the beef brisket.

7. Add a spoonful of cooking wine, cover, and simmer for an hour.

8. Heat oil in a wok, pour in carrots and potatoes, and fry until fragrant. Then set aside.

9. After an hour, pour the carrots and potatoes into the pot and cook with the beef brisket.

10. Pour in curry powder and continue simmering for about 20 minutes.

11. After the radish and potato are cooked soft, add coconut milk and a teaspoon of sugar and cook for 10 minutes.
