Spring is here, the best time for children to grow taller. White radish replenishes qi, and oysters supplement calcium. After school, a bowl of light and fragrant height-boosting soup is perfect.

Steps for making Radish and Oyster Soup (one of 100 home-style dishes)

Wash the oysters and set aside (just rinse them briefly, otherwise the umami flavor won't be as strong).

Peel and wash the white radish, then shred it.

Heat oil in a pan, then add scallions and ginger and sauté until fragrant. (Since my child doesn't like ginger, I used ginger slices so they would be easier to pick out; you can use minced ginger as usual.)

Add hot water to fill the pot more than halfway and bring to a boil.

Once the water boils, add the shredded radish and simmer over low heat until softened.

Once the radish is cooked, add the oysters, then season with salt and pepper. To preserve the freshness, don't add too many seasonings.

Once the oysters are cooked, remove them from the pot.
